CALLIOPE:
Group facilitation methods: Ice Breakers and Energizers
Identification
To energize a large group of people. in a fun way,
Howto
Instructions;
"First, let's make sure you can stand up and sit down comfortably at your seat. Try standing up and sitting down. All clear? I'm going to ask a series of questions, each beginning with the phrase ?Who here..." If you can answer yes to a question, stand up and sit down. If you can't answer yes, stay seated. For example, "who here owns a cat?" If you own a cat you would pop up and down. If not, do nothing."
Ask questions of the group (which you can make up before hand). You can include questions relevant to the group (i.e.: Who has worked here more than 5 years, who understands the new regulations) as well as fun ones. I end with an energizing statement that all can stand up for. Here are some examples of what I toss into the mix.
Who here:
a... has a dog? a cat? both a dog & a cat?
b... takes the newspaper from the middle of the stack?
c... likes to skinny dip?
d... wears pajamas to sleep?

g... has been to Asia?
