I explain the process, for instance, placing 3 marks beside their key points of interest. I tell them that I will read the points on the flipchart aloud, to give them time to make their choices. This generally doesn't take more than a few minutes, even with multiple flipcharts. I then read them and, if I forgot to number them while recording in the first place, number them, as I point to them. For people with literacy challenges, they often manage life through visuals and by remembering where something should go or, they may be OK with numbers rather than letters.
